| Douglas Senior Services provides assistance to Douglas County residents, age 60 and over The goal of our agency is to enhance the quality of life and promote independence among our older residents. |
Information & Assistance
A specialist trained in resources for the aging population connects elderly clients and their families with a network of
resources in the community through ESP. (Elderly Services Program).
Senior Center & Congregate Meal Program
Socialization, a variety of leisure activities, and a noon meal for the more active senior.
Transportation to and from the senior center is provided. (May have a waiting list for transportation services)
Home Delivered Meals
Hot nutritious noon meal delivered Monday-Friday to frail, homebound elderly age 60 and over.
Homemaker Services
Homemaker services (light housekeeping) are provided to the elderly so they can maintain self-sufficiency and continue to
live as independently as possible in their own homes.
Respite Care Services
Quality respite care is provided by trained respite worker to individuals at home so spouse or caregiver may have some
temporary relief from their daily care-giving responsibilities.
Case Management
The Case Manager evaluates the client's needs to arrange for services provided by our agency or other service providers as
necessary. They assist the elderly individual in obtaining services needed to maintain as healthy a lifestyle as possible.
Transportation
Transportation is provided to and from the senior center. Medical transportation to doctor appointments for persons 60 and
over and to handicapped persons under age 60 who are disabled. (May have a waiting list for transportation services.)
Volunteer Services
Volunteers provide services to homebound seniors by delivering Home Delivered Meals, providing friendly visitation or
telephone reassurance and minor home repairs.
